Technology Support in The Tuttleman Center

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) and Media Services have been working to enhance and refine technology support for faculty teaching in the Tuttleman Center. OIT and Media Services staff have redesigned the procedures for faculty that require assistance in any of the technology equipped teaching spaces in the Tuttleman Center.

Those procedures are as follows:

  1. All telephone calls for assistance should be placed to the Technology Help Desk 215-951-4648. The Tuttleman Center classroom podiums are equipped with a telephone for placing campus calls for support or in cases of emergency.

  2. The Technology Help Desk staff will work to resolve the problem over the phone, or refer the caller to the appropriate OIT or Media Services technical staff.

  3. Calls for assistance placed to the Technology Help Desk before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM can now be routed directly to Media Services by pressing "3" on the Technology Help Desk voice mail options (x2645). Media Services staff will answer the call and work to resolve the problem.

It is important to note that support for faculty teaching in the Tuttleman Center also includes "Quick guides" at each classroom podium, one-on-one classroom technology training from OIT, and auditorium training and special events support from Media Services.

OIT and Media Services place the highest priority on resolving classroom technical problems as quickly as possible. I welcome your input and feedback as we implement these new support solutions.

Our eventual goal is to provide a single point of contact for technology support on the Philadelphia University campus. The Office of Information Technology is currently developing plans to initially deploy expanded Technology Help Desk support for faculty, students, and staff during this coming summer, and further refine the procedures for the start of classes next fall. Please contact the Technology Help Desk at 215-951-2645 if you have any questions or comments.
