What types of assessments are available to me?

There are two types of assessments available within Blackboard: graded (test) and ungraded (surveys). For each of these types of assessment you have a variety of question types available including short essay, multiple choice, fill in the blank, ordering, multiple answer, true/false, and matching.

How do I create a test/survey?

An assessment in Blackboard can be any one of a several types of tests, e.g.: multiple-choice (students select the correct answer from several choices), true/false, multiple answer (allows students to select more than one answer), ordered, matching, fill-in-the-blank, essay, or random block (the instructor selects one or more questions at random from another test or question pool).

What is the Pool Manager?

The Pool Manager is a tool within Blackboard that allows you to create and manage pools of questions. These pools can be created by entering questions manually, collecting questions from existing pools or assessments, and my importing existing questions.

To use the pool manager, follow the same directions as listed for creating a test.

How do I create a question pool?

Creating a question pool follows the same procedures as creating an assessment.

You can also import questions from external sources such as colleagues, Respondus, Course Cartridges from your textbook, etc.
