This page provides links to collections of electronic journals. These collections can provide the full-text of issues of journals, and the collections can also be searched by subject to find articles on a specific topic. We subscribe to the following e-journal collections. The individual journal titles included in all of the collections included on this page are also included in Gutman Library's JournalList.

American Chemical Society

This provides access to 30+ titles from the American Chemical Society. Features available include a search system for locating articles by topic and an e-mail table of contents alert service. From the ACS Publications Home Page click on the button (left side of page) for "journals and magazines". From this page, you can request a journal by title; they are listed alphabetically. Alternately, you can click on the "search" tab (top of page) to search the collection by keyword. Click here to connect now.

SpringerLink

SpringerLink  is used primarily for science and technology, but also contains social science and humanities journals. Most physical sciences are represented, as well as computer science, materials science and health science. We have fulltext access to a large portion of SpringerLink journals, but not the entire collection. Articles available in fulltext will appear in your search results list with the green rectangle icon. Use the Advanced Search, and click on the tab entitled "Articles by Text" to conduct a search in SpringerLink.   Click here to connect now.

Project Muse

Project Muse is a collection of 112 full-text journals covering the fields of literature and criticism, history, the visual and performing arts, cultural studies, education, political science, gender studies, and many others. Project MUSE is setting the standard for scholarly electronic journals in the humanities and social sciences. Individual journal titles may be browsed or the entire collection can be searched by keyword. Click here to connect now.

Emerald 

Emerald is an "intelligence and full-text electronic library" spanning subjects such as marketing, general management, human resources, quality, property, operations, production & economics, library & information services, information management, training & education and engineering. Approximately 115+ titles are included. You can search all of the content by keywords or look at tables of contents for specific journals. From the Emerald Home Page, click on "Emerald Full Text" to access the journal collection. You can then search all or part of the collection or click on the "Browse" tab to examine journals by their title. ScienceDirect College Edition

ScienceDirect is a collection of nearly 2,000 electronic journals. The collection is divided into different subject collections. Currently, Gutman Library subscribes ONLY to the Physical Sciences and Engineering collection. The Physical Sciences and Engineering collection contains approximately 850 full-text journals that provides disciplinary coverage for chemistry, chemical engineering, computer science, earth sciences, energy, engineering, materials science, math, and physics and astronomy. Though we only have access to the full text of journals in the Physical Sciences and Engineering collection, it is possible to do a search of the entire ScienceDirect collection in the pursuit of literature on a wide range of social science and health science topics. To proceed once you are in ScienceDirect, click on the "search" tab. You can search all the collections, or change the "display" to only "subscribed" collections - which will limit the retrieval to journals in the Materials Sciences Collection. AACE Digital Library

Offers peer reviewed and published international journal articles and proceedings papers on the latest research, developments, and applications related to all aspects of educational technology and e-learning. Journals may be browsed by title and issue or searched by keyword. There is also a free table of contents alert service.

BioMed Central

BioMed Central's portfolio of over 100 journals ranges from the highly selective, general interest Journal of Biology, which publishes both online and in print, to a range of specialist online only journals. All research articles and most other content in BioMed Central's journals are fully and rapidly peer-reviewed.

DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals

Open access journals are free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. Gutman Library does not subscribe to these journals - and they are not currently listed in our catalog or on our JournalList service. Journals are available in categories such as chemistry, biology, engineering, arts and architecture, business, economics, and environmental sciences. This service was started in 2003 so extensive title selections or many years of issues are not yet available. Click here to connect now.

HighWire Press

From Stanford University Libraries, this project provides partial fulltext access to several articles across many disciplines. Use the advanced search feature to find free fulltext. According to HighWire's website, "HighWire Press hosts the largest repository of free full-text life science articles in the world, with 1,904,059 articles available without subscription."

PubMed Central

This companion site to PubMed, the web version of Medline, provides access to the National Library of Medicine's free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. There are currently about 100 titles. You can browse or search. Click here to connect now.
