Clear Browser Cache

When using the Internet the program you are using saves a tiny bit of information on your computer to track where you've been, what passwords you have used, and many other various types of data that are saved for a later date. This saved information can corrupt online interactions. This is the first step in troubleshooting any Internet issue is to clear out this data from your computer. Below are instructions for the three most popular Internet Browsers.

Windows PC

- Internet Explorer
- Firefox
- Chrome

Apple Computer

- Safari
- Firefox
- Chrome

 

INTERNET EXPLORER (PC):

1. Open "Internet Explore"

2. Click on the "Tools" Button at the upper right of the Internet Explorer window

3. Select the "Internet Options" button on the tab down menu. A new window will pop up.

4. Under the "General" tab directly in the middle of the window is a "Delete..." button. Under the browsing history section.

5. A new window will pop up. Make sure only the boxes "Temporary Internet files", "Cookies", "History", "Form Data", and "Passwords" are checked.

6. Press the "Delete" button. This will delete all the Internet Data.

7. Press the "OK" button on the Internet Options window.

8. Restart Internet Explorer.

 

CHROME (PC)

1. Open Chrome

2. At the upper right there is a wrench. Please click on it.

3. Select the option that says "Internet Options" A new drop down appears.

4. Select the option that says "Clear Browsing Data"

5. A new window pops up. Make sure all the options are checked

6. At the top of the window that pops up there is an option that says "Obliterate the following items from" and a drop down. In the drop-down choose the option "The beginning of time"

7. Click on the "Clear Browsing Data" button

 

FIREFOX (PC)

1. Open Firefox

2. Click on the Tab at the upper left of Firefox that says "Firefox" (This should be a unique orange tab)

3. Select the "Options" drop down and then the "Options" Tab that extends off of that. A new window will pop up.

4. Select the "Advanced" tab at the top of the window.

5. Click on the "Network" Tab under the Advanced menu

6. Click on the "Clear Now" button which should be the second section down. (This might look like it freezes your computer. Please wait for a few minutes until things act normal again)

7. Press "OK" at the bottom of the page

 

SAFARI (MAC)

1. Open Safari

2. Click on the "Safari" Tab at the far upper left of the screen.

3. Select the "Reset Safari" option from the pull down menu.

4. Make sure all the boxes are selected and press the "Reset" Button

 

FIREFOX (MAC)

1. Open Firefox

2. Click on the "Firefox" Menu button at the far top left of your screen.

3. Select the "Preferences" option from the drop down menu.

4. Select the "Advanced" tab at the top of the window.

5. Click on the "Network" Tab under the Advanced menu

6. Click on the "Clear Now" button which should be the second section down. (This might look like it freezes your computer. Please wait for a few minutes until things act normal again)

 

CHROME (Mac)

1. Open Chrome
