Important Notes:

Philadelphia University’s Office of Information Resources continues to install MS Windows XP and Apple OS 10.4.x (Tiger) on University owned PCs and Macs. Microsoft Office 2003 for Windows and Office 2004 for Mac are the installed and supported office productivity suites on our campus.

Many students arrive on campus with a new Mac or PC with OS 10.5.x (Leopard) or Vista installed. Those operating system versions should function without difficulty, but please be aware that the Office of Information Resources provides only limited support for those products until such time that they have been more broadly tested and deployed on our campus.

Windows 95, 98 ME, 2000, Server 2003 and 2008 are NOT permitted to connect to the network and, as such, are not eligible for support.

Students majoring in Design Programs might be required or desire to purchase additional software applications during the fall or spring semesters. Please consult with department faculty for details.

McAfee Network Associates Virus Scan is our standard antivirus software. We provide this software free of charge to all students when they connect to our network

Wireless routers are prohibited on our network. Use could result in loss of network privileges.
