Defragmenting your Hard Drive
 

Running Disk Defragmenter regularly, can help keep your computer to continue running at optimal speeds
and also can extend the life of your hard drive.
1.)

Click on the "Start Menu" in the lower left hand corner of the desktop.

2.)

Mouse over "Programs", then "Accessories", then "System Tools" and finally, click on "Disk Defragmenter".



3.)

Within the Disk Defragmenter, select the desired drive and then click "Analyze".



 

4.)

When it is finished analyzing the machine, click on the "Defragment" button.



 

5.)

Defragmenting can take up to a couple hours so please be patient.



 

6.)

When Defragmenting finishes, click the "Close" button.
