Community scholars transfer program with community college of philadelphia

Philadelphia University is proud to offer Community College of Philadelphia graduates, from selected degree programs, the opportunity to receive a substantial scholarship to complete a bachelor’s degree in selected programs at Philadelphia University.  This opportunity is available for the following programs:

AA in Liberal Arts -- Social Behavioral Science Option Psychology

Scholarship

Students accepted into the Community Scholars Program receive a scholarship award equal to 50% of the annual full-time tuition. Scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout their enrollment to maintain their scholarship status. Other forms of financial aid may also be available. Students should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Requirements
  • Graduation from CCP in one of the selected programs within the past two years of your application to Philadelphia University or be certified by CCP to graduate in one of the selected programs within the present graduation period.
  • A minimum of a 3.0 GPA at the time of graduation from CCP.
  • Students must submit all regular application materials and complete the supplemental application for the scholars program.  The application fee is waived.
  • Community Scholars Program participants must be enrolled in one of the selected Philadelphia University programs as a full-time day division student.
  • All Community Scholar Program participants agree to commute to Philadelphia University and will receive a free commuter parking permit.
  • The Scholarship recipient agrees to maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout their enrollment at Philadelphia University to maintain their scholarship status.
  • The grade of "D" is not acceptable for transfer credit evaluation.
  • Once enrolled you will be accorded “Junior Year” status and must complete all remaining coursework at Philadelphia University.
How Do I Apply?

Applicants to the Community Scholars Program must complete both the General Application and the Supplemental Application available in paper form or online at www.PhilaU.edu/admissions/download/cspapp.pdf. Submit an official transcript from Community College of Philadelphia. Recommendation letters and a personal statement are encouraged, but not required.

Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 50 spaces in the Community Scholars Program are available for the 2008-2009 school year.
