INSTANT MESSENGER Chat

Philadelphia University's Undergraduate Admissions Office is happy to answer questions submitted via instant messenger.  At this time, we are able to display status for and accept messages through Yahoo Instant Messenger and AOL Instant Messenger.*

STATUS INDICATOR

If the status indicators at the top of the right-hand column of this page displays an "online" message and appear in color, then a current student is available to receive your message and answer your question. If you would rather email a current student, visit our "ask a student" pages.

You may also click the text link for a counselor (see below).

IM A PARTICULAR COUNSELOR

If there is a particular counselor you wish to contact, or with whom you have made initial contact and want to contact again, visit www.PhilaU.edu/Admissions/IMstatusByPerson.htm

SENDING A MESSAGE

To use either Yahoo Instant Messenger or AOL Instant Messenger to send us a message, you must first have an account with one of these services. If you have an account, the software is installed, and our status shows as online, then click on the indicator of your choice. Your instant messenger client software should open.

MAC USERS

MAC users may experience a problem initiating Yahoo Instant Messenger from the online status indicator. The AOL status indicator link will, however, work with iChat.

If the status indicator shows an online status but you need to manually enter the recipient, know that our account ID for both Yahoo Instant Messenger and AOL is philau_admission01.

MANUALLY ENTERING OUR ACCOUNT ID TO SEND A MESSAGE

Should you need to manually enter our account ID as recipient, first verify that we are online by checking the status indicator on this or the Undergraduate Admissions home page.

Philadelphia University Undergraduate Admissions' account ID for Yahoo Instant Messenger is philau_admissions01 and for AOL it is PhilaUAdm01 .

* We also have an MSN Instant Messenger account (account ID: philau_admissions01), but the status indicator for MSN is not supported at this time. However, if AOL and Yahoo Status Indicators reflect an online status, the MSN account is active. Please manually enter our account ID to send a message via this service.
