About the Program

The Animation program at Philadelphia University offers a thorough understanding of animation fundamentals along with practical experience utilizing cutting-edge tools and techniques. As a graduate of the program, you will be equipped for leading creative roles in film, television, visual effects, marketing and video games.

What is Animation?

Animation is the process of combining design, storytelling and production to add life to many types of media, including everything from film to video games.

You will learn the entire process of creating beautiful and engaging animations, from concept development and design, to working with 2D and 3D animation production software to bring your creations to life. As a graduate, you will be equipped with the knowledge to fulfill many careers, such as:

To succeed as an animator in today’s workplace, you will require a diverse combination of skills, including the understanding of basic design principles, the capacity to plan and develop a great story, the ability to harness the latest digital technologies and techniques, and experience working in a collaborative environment.

Program Success

Recent graduates have found themselves in creative positions at a diverse range of companies from small to medium businesses and larger companies such as Electronic Arts, Siemens Healthcare, NBC Sports, and Comcast. Many graduates also find themselves seeking a fast-paced career in an agency environment.  Gramercy Park Studios, BOCO Digital Media, Brolik Productions, Tonic Design Co., and Night Kitchen Interactive are just a few of the notable agencies where our graduates have established careers.
