The 2011-2012 academic year is fast approaching. There are a variety of things that you can do on-campus this upcoming year to grow your brand and hire more talent. • Corporate Connections Career Fair – Recruit our business students including fashion merchandising and fashion industry management majors, engineering, psychology, and professional communication students at this event on September 22nd. Register for the event at http://www.philau.edu/career/corporateconnect/index.htm.

• Design Expo - Employers spend the morning reviewing design portfolios and then select the students that they are interested in meeting with in the afternoon during 15-minute timed increments. This event will take place in March 2012. An invitation will go out in February.

• Career and Internship Fair - Similar to the Corporate Connections event, our Career and Internship Fair will take place on February 16th, 2012. Employers can also recruit graduating seniors for full-time positions at this event. NEW THIS YEAR - Recruit fashion/textile designers at this event as well!

• On-Campus Interviews – Schedule your on-campus interviews from October 5th – November 18th. Click here for steps on how to schedule your on-campus interviews.

• Virtual Fashion Career Fair – The Virtual Fashion Career Fair (4th Annual) will take place the week of November 7th – November 13th. Recruit students for Spring/Summer Internships or full-time roles or alums for experienced positions. This year we will be incorporating a LinkedIn component into the event so you can network with Philadelphia University students and alums via LinkedIn. More info to come.

• Portfolio Reviews - Contribute information to our website about portfolio development. The students often ask us for resources on how to develop a portfolio, what to add to the portfolio and how to communicate their portfolio to employers. We are seeking employers who are willing to contribute a LIVE Portfolio Review video to our website. Hopefully you found an intern at our DesignExpo recruiting event or have a young designer on your staff. We need a short 10-15 minute portfolio review with a young designer to be uploaded to YouTube. If you are interested, please contact Amy. This is a great way to brand your organization on-campus.

• Emerging Leaders Networking Circle Event – We are looking for employers to participate in a networking event for high potential freshman. Each year we teach a group of “Emerging Leaders” about networking with the help of our employer partners. This year the event will take place from 12-2:30pm on November 10th. • Facebook – Philadelphia University’s Career Services Center now has a Facebook page. Want us to add anything about your company or direct students to your page? Let us know.

• Speakers in Class – If you are looking to partner with faculty in the classroom, let us know ASAP. We are especially looking for retailers to speak in our fashion merchandising courses.
