TIP OF THE WEEK

PORTFOLIO PREPARATION:

During these weeks prior to DesignExpo, it is vitally important for you to work on the material contained in your portfolio.  It is also necessary to plan out how you will present the portfolio’s contents to employers.  Due to the tight scheduling you will have with each employer – roughly 10 to 15 minutes – it is essential that you make every effort to offer a polished, professional, and clear presentation of your work.  We encourage you to practice your portfolio presentation by showing it to classmates, friends, faculty or other trusted individuals prior to attending the event.

Additionally, there are new portfolio-related resources on the Career Services website that we encourage you to review as you prepare your portfolio for the day of the event.  As you will see on the following webpage (http://www.philau.edu/career/students/CreativePortfolios.htm) each of the resources indicate the industry to which it is most connected.  It is highly encouraged, however, that you consider reviewin
g ALL of the employers' tips, as the advice they offer may prove useful to you as someone hoping to enter the design industry.
