Instead of telling you all the tasks that I took part in this week, I would like to conclude with my experience this summer and recommendations to other students looking to have an internship.

This Wednesday was our intern ‘wrap up’ day; where interns present the projects they have worked so hard on all summer and also speak with HR about their experience and future possibilities. I found out on this day that PVH is ranked number four in top internships in the U.S. This statistic should speak for itself but I just want to add that these three summers have helped me grow both personally and professionally. The difference I can see in myself from last year to this year is amazing. I still may not know exactly what I want to do when I graduate but after trying different positions I have gained a better understanding of how business is conducted.

The one thing that I really love about PVH is how friendly and family-like each department feels. Everyone makes you feel welcome and never makes you feel that you are just an intern. You are reminded that your work is valuable and that you will be missed.

I am really happy that I worked in the buying department this summer. I have a real passion for it and hope that I can continue to learn more about a buying career in a fall internship that I may have. I really enjoyed seeing the process it takes to release apparel for a season. From the beginning of summer to the end, I was able to see that entire process and I look forward to seeing the product in stores this coming spring. It is really exciting to know that you had a hand in molding the line, even if it was a small one.

I hope everyone has an opportunity like this and if you do, don’t forget to put yourself out there and take initiative. That was my main goal this summer and I believe I executed it which is why I have grown so much compared to prior summers. Even now, after 10 successful weeks I wish I took initiative even earlier because time just flies by.

Best of luck to everyone and enjoy your last few weeks of summer!
