Hope everyone's summer has been going great!
Last Monday I went to 30Rock and met with my group for the "Reel Intern Contest." It was great being introduced to the people who I'll be working with creating the video reel for the contest. We're all different majors and have areas of expertise so it's interesting to watch how we'll each contribute. Since I'm not too familiar with video editing and filming, I can take part in designing different aspects of the project. For example, I'll be designing the new information sheet that each team is required to re-format. I will definitely be able to help in these areas because this contest is not only about the video, but also the visuals and final presentation of how we'll promote the NBC Universal intern program.
Throughout the week we had our different meetings with the TravelSkoot group and the Marketing/PR team for the iVillage site. We're constantly checking in with other group members and seeing what is happening with the sites and thinking of new ways for promotion. This "TravelSkoot Summer Sweepstakes" is a great way to hopefully get the attention of more users. I have been working on designing the logo that will change weekly according to the theme. When testing out different variations or ideas, I always received a lot of feedback and critics from my leader and the creative director. This is crucial for designing because I need to make sure my design is properly promoting the site, and also visually appealing.
On Wednesday, the Campus Relations team threw all the Chelsea Market interns a Kick Off party. This was a perfect chance for the our group to meet fellow interns on different floors in the building. Amazingly, five members in our group all won prizes in the raffle. A team member and I both won VIP Jimmy Fallon tickets for August! This will be my second time going to the show because my friends and I also went Thursday. Seeing how a show is filmed and getting a behind the scenes view was cool. We got to go down to the stage when the band Dinosaur Jr. played, and got to see Jimmy Fallon and guest Evan Rachel Wood!
The rest of my week was spent finishing the final logo for the sweepstakes and creating a button for the contest to finalize creating a skoot. There are plenty more projects that I will also be working on this summer, not including the other ten or so logos for the weekly sweepstakes. Needless to say, I'll definitely be busy with work and the contest!
Thanks for following and enjoy your 4th of July celebrations!
