With my internship more than three quarters completed, my experience at NBCU this summer has been great!

The past week I was especially busy working on designing the Summer Sweepstakes logo and preparing for the upcoming "Reel Intern Contest." On Monday we had our weekly group meeting discussing promotion and preparation for upcoming events on the website. The three interns, along with two of our supervisors, worked all week on making sure the site's information and videos were correct and ready for release. I had been working on the same logo all last week so it was nice to get to work on something a little different for a few days.

On Tuesday I met with my group for the video project at Rockefeller Center. One of the interns in my group works at 30Rock so we met at her desk which happens to be located right near all the NBC Today Show hosts and anchors. It was awesome to be able to see where Ann Curry, Tiki Barber, Tom Brokaw, Hoda Kotb and Matt Lauer's offices are located. Our group discussed our plan for the final presentation and wrote up a script so that we were ready for when it was our chance to film next week. I can't wait to get to interview and meet all these NBC talents!

Thursday was my busiest day of the week. I finished the final version of the next logo for the sweepstakes. We received the final press release with the list of weekly themes for the contest which helps me to start planning out what I will be doing for the next logo. I also met with my supervisor for my weekly one and one and she asked how I felt I was doing so far in the internship. It was nice to be able to ask her opinions on possibly obtaining my MBA at PhilaU and other opportunities at NBC in the future. Being able to obtain her advice from personal experience was extremely beneficial.

I met again with the creative director who gave me feedback before I submitted the final logo and also asked me if I would be interested in helping work on graphics for another site in the group. I had to option to not accept if I was too busy, but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to work with other designers and practice design with the group. It's crucial to take advantage of great opportunities such as these while I'm here at the internship.

Later that day I left to meet again with my group and we further mapped out our set schedule for filming. Once we start our filming week, there's a lot of work to be done as far as editing the video and preparing for the final presentation but we are excited for the challenge. After my meeting at 30Rock, I met up with a few other interns and we ate at this great Japanese restaurant near Union Square. Being able to socialize outside of the office was fun. I stayed the night at a friend's NYU dorm and saw how perfect it would be to be living in the city. It was much more convenient that commuting everyday!

I love working in Chelsea Market because we're able to see what's going on throughout the whole building. In the Food Network Studios, Iron Chef America is filming so we saw the host, Alton Brown, and chef Morimoto.

This week we start filming our talents for the contest so I will keep you updated on the busy week ahead of me!

Thanks for reading and have a great week!
