In these last two weeks of my summer internship, my days have been filled with balancing my individual projects and preparing for the final presentation for the Reel Intern Contest.

On Monday, my group had scheduled a meeting with Ann Curry. It was an amazing opportunity to get to interview someone as successful as her. We were trying to figure out how to film a fun skit with her, and to our surprise she decided we should stop by while she was filming the morning news the next day.

My Tuesday morning started at 4:45, so that I could make it to the taping of the Today Show with Ann. I arrived at 30Rock at about 7:45 and from there we went to the studio and filmed out skit. We also ran into Al Roker again who asked how our video was progressing. After my exciting morning, I headed over to Chelsea to start my day working on the Sweeps logo and another icon project. I was invited to a meeting for another group working on a website which was really interesting to see how a group determines who takes on which project.

The rest of my week was spent finalizing the Summer Sweeps logo and designing icons for the NeverSayDiet.com website. I met with the creative director again to get feedback on my logos. It was a great opportunity not only because I was getting his opinions on my designs, but he also got the other designers and coordinators to help brainstorm more ideas for the icons. Being able to communicate and interact with a professional designer is a great way for me to experience entering the business.

On Friday after the final logo was completed, I began to start working on the presentation and Powerpoint for the video contest. We present to the panel on Tuesday and had to hand our video in that afternoon. I can't wait to show our group's video and present our ideas on how we would best promote the NBCU internship program. Later that afternoon I spent some time with a fellow PhilaU classmate, ate lunch and explored the new Highline right in Chelsea. It was a great way to start off the weekend!
