I can't believe that this is the last week in my internship! Hard to believe that its been over 2 months since I had my first day here at NBCU.
My schedule last week was pretty busy between trying to complete my projects and preparing for the final presentation for the "Reel Intern Project." Monday was spent putting the finishing touches on the powerpoint for our presentation.
On Tuesday afternoon, my group met up to practice what we will be saying in the presentation. We discussed all of the categories that needed to be addressed such as the marketing campaign, the video, and the overall way we would propose to reach out to perspective students. We presented that afternoon, with a few minor computer difficulties but ended up giving a great presentation! It was a relief to see how all of our hard work paid off in the final presentation. The panel of judges enjoyed our video, and were impressed with how many NBC talents were interviewed in the video. They informed us a few days later that each team won a category and would all be treated to a luncheon with the judges next Tuesday. I know that all the groups are looking forward to celebrating!
On Thursday I had design review with the team working on the other iVillage sites such as NeverSayDiet.com. I spent most of Wednesday and Thursday refining the final icons that will be used on the site's blog. It was great to get the opportunity to be apart of their meeting where everyone showed some of the projects they were working on. The creative director gave feedback and everyone could offer their ideas and thoughts on how to fix a design issue. I showed my final versions of the icons and received some good ideas for the next Summer Sweeps logo.
Friday was dedicated to finishing up the final Summer Sweeps logo for the "Dazzling Summer Date Night" logo. I met with the creative director to get some constructive criticism on the logo before I finalized it. After I left on Friday, I met up with my brother and his girlfriend because they had an extra ticket to the Jimmy Fallon Show. Adam Sandler was the guest promoting his new movie "Funny People." It was a hilarious taping and Jimmy Buffet was the musical guest who sang "Margaritaville" with the Roots. Sitting 2nd row at the taping was a great way to end my busy week and relax before my final week!
Thanks for following my internship this summer and stay tuned for my final journal!
Enjoy your week,
Laura
