SCHEDULE OF THE DAY
  • Graduating students who are participating in commencement exercises are expected to arrive at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts by 9:30 am.
  • University staff will be on hand to assist students with the proper fitting of the academic hood and other attire issues.  THERE IS NO COMMENCEMENT REHEARSAL.  Instructions on how to proceed during the ceremony will be given prior to the presentation.
  • Please leave personal belongings with family members before reporting to the student area.
  • Rest Rooms – please use the rest rooms in the Mann Center before reporting to the student area.
  • Academic attire (i.e. cap and gown) is required for participation.
  • The Graduate Processional begins promptly at 10:45 am.
  • Students not in line by 10:30 am will be removed from the marching list and their names will not be announced.
  • Tickets are required for all guests.
  • Seating for guests is unreserved general admission.
  • A parking fee is charged at the Mann.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted at the commencement ceremony.
  • Video cameras are not permitted inside the Mann.
  • Balloons are not permitted inside the Mann.
  • The ceremony will last approximately 2 and one half hours.  If making lunch or dinner reservations after the event, please allow ample time for safe travel.  Just like any large event, traffic leaving the facility can be a bit heavy.

PLEASE NOTE: May 2012 diplomas will be mailed to graduates 6-8 weeks after the Commencement Ceremony.  Please be sure that the Registrar has your correct mailing address (www.Registrar@PhilaU.edu).
