Dear graduates, families and friends:
I am pleased to announce that Philadelphia University’s 2015 Commencement exercises will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in the Terrace Ballroom of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, located at 1101 Arch St. in Center City Philadelphia. The ceremony for graduate students will take place at 10 a.m., and the ceremony for undergraduate students will take place at 2:30 p.m.
The Mann Center for Performing Arts will be unavailable in May because of renovations. Partnering with leadership from the Student Government Association, we researched alternate locations for Commencement, including several on-campus options. After careful evaluation, our team was most enthusiastic about the Pennsylvania Convention Center’s Terrace Ballroom, and we finalized the decision in consultation with the SGA leadership.
At over 55,000 square feet, the Terrace Ballroom of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, just a few years old, is an ideal space for Commencement. The beautifully arched ceiling and modern design aesthetics reflect Philadelphia University’s innovative design-mindedness. The Center City location allows for close proximity to hotels, plenty of parking, and endless options for dining and other entertainment for graduating students and their families to enjoy.
As always, Commencement will be a beautiful event in which we celebrate our graduating students’ successes and rejoice in the next phase of their professional lives, and we are honored to hold our Commencement at the Pennsylvania Convention Center this year.
