COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE
The Community Service Committee is a student-run organization. It was
originated in the Fall of 1999 by the Student Government Association's Community
Service Chair.
The mission statement of the Community Service Committee is as follows:
The purpose of the Community Service Committee of
Philadelphia University is to promote humanitarian involvement and greater
awareness within the university and surrounding communities. To accomplish this,
the Community Service Committee will educate the campus community of the
benefits of service and the importance of volunteerism in the Greater
Philadelphia area. Our goal is to have a positive, long-lasting impact on the
communities and individuals that we interact with.
The Community Service Committee offers students excellent opportunities to gain
leadership and programming experience. The programs that students plan
make a positive impact on our community and also get other students to
participate in that impact.
The Committee also provides a forum for students to voice their suggestions
for projects directly to the Community Service Office. They let us know what
they think should be done in the future. The Community Service Office considers
the suggestion the Committee makes valuable to its future programming.
If you are interested in making a difference in our community, please let us
know, either via e-mail or by calling the Community Service Office.
