Mission Statement

The Office of Commuter Services (OCS) provides resources and facilities to meet the basic needs of commuter and off-campus students. We provide engagement opportunities to assist commuter and off-campus students and promote learning and development. OCS assists commuters and off-campus students in connecting them with the PhilaU community and one another through various programs and leadership initiatives.

Office of Commuter Services Staff

The Assistant Director of Student Activities and two Commuter Leaders (CLs) are dedicated to serving the needs of commuting and off-campus students. They can be found in Kanbar Campus Center 301, which is the Student Activities Suite.

Commuter Leaders are upper class commuting students who work in the Student Activities Office (SAO). Off-campus students should have specific student leaders to turn to just as residents have Resident Assistants (RAs) as resources and guides. A CL’s primary responsibility is to aid new commuting and off-campus students in their transition to college life. First year commuters are assigned a CL before the academic year begins according to the first letter of their last name.
