All counseling sessions are conducted with the utmost regard to confidentiality and all records kept by Counseling Services are confidential meaning that the information shared with a counselor is not released to anyone outside the Counseling Services office.  Information can be released only under the following exceptions:

If the student gives written permission to disclose information (in that instance, the student determines what information is to be released and to whom)

If a student presents a clear and imminent danger to himself/herself or to another person

Students meeting with a counselor are encouraged to discuss any concerns that they have about confidentiality immediately.
