Day of Service will be in place of classes on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Service projects will take place at various times throughout the day, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The University will be open at the basic services level. The library, fitness center and academic labs will all be closed until 6 p.m. Security, admissions and several other offices will be staffed as needed. Supervisors in all offices will decide who staffs the offices that will be open.
All employees and student workers should check with their supervisors about whether they are scheduled to work for some part of that day and should plan to fit volunteer service in during other hours of the day. Staff members that do not participate in Day of Service activities must report to work for normal business hours.
This year all sign-ups are online. Staff volunteers will sign up directly, whether as a department or as an individual.
Volunteer Registration Form
Those who have not registered and/or been assigned a volunteer service project should go to the registration table Tuesday, Sept. 15 morning to be placed in a project. The registration table will be located on the patio outside of the Kanbar Campus Center Living Room.
Volunteers will be notified by email a week prior to Day of Service. Information provided to you will include the name of your Project Leader, contact information, the project name and location, a start time and the length of time your project will take. The Project Leader will also be in contact with you to notify you when and where to meet on the Day of Service.
