Digital Design, the design of cyber space, uses multimedia including sound, music, video, images and animation. Multimedia designers create interactive CD-ROMs, e-commerce
Web sites, interactive touch screen displays, entertainment mediums and other digital technology phenomenon,
as yet unknown.
The Digital Design program prepares students by developing technical expertise, as well as lateral thinking and dynamic vision.
Digital Designers help building and product designers to visualize, present
and realize their ideas. For example, a Digital Designer might generate
a virtual walk-through of a proposed building to convey an architect’s plan
or build a digital model of a prototype car so that it can be “test driven.”
While the traditional design fields will remain vital, Digital Designers
seek new paths of understanding and design expression, creating new technological ways to communicate them.
Graduates of the Digital Design program possess the interpersonal skills and experience to perform well in a team-based design workplace—increasingly becoming the standard industry model.
The Digital Design major at Philadelphia University
leading to the Bachelor of Science has two distinct, yet intertwined tracks: multimedia and visualization.
Our newest graduate program at Philadelphia University is the M.S.
in Digital Design.
Please note that the Digital Design major was formerly known as E-Design.
