Dennis Kuronen was the founding director of the programs in Graphic Design, Digital Design and Digital Animation at Philadelphia University. He has a visual background in both design and the arts. While his educational degrees were in painting and sculpture, he has also has extensive professional experience in design. He has been an art director at a variety of design studios and has also been the creative director of a magazine. He is currently a partner in the Kuronen+Michaels design firm.
Mr. Kuronen has won a variety of awards in both art and design, with work represented in several museum and private collections. He is also the recipient of numerous prizes and purchase awards at juried exhibitions and was chosen for a purchase of a large outdoor sculpture through the Philadelphia Arts Commission.
Mr. Kuronen has been involved in higher education for over thirty years. He was the Chairperson of an art department and served as the head of two graphic design programs at previous institutions before coming to Philadelphia University to found the graphic design program in 1994.
