Mike Leonard is an industrial designer and design educator. He owns a product design consultancy called Mike Leonard, Designer in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania Since 1980, Mike has worked solving design problems for some very well known companies like Gillette, Black & Decker, and Polaroid and some interesting small companies like Numonics and Ion Systems. Currently, Mike and his designers are designing furniture, housewares, sports equiptment and some adaptive equiptment for the elderly. Mike has served on the Design Advisory Board for the American Society of Inventors. He has been Chapter Chair of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). He holds several patents.

Mike is a 1980 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art (now The University of the Arts) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. Mike holds a MA in Education from the University of Phoenix. Mike is an Associate Professor at Philadelphia University where he teaches the Junior year studios and Ergonomics. He also teaches in the Occupational Therapy master's program at Phila U.
