Fashion Week 2010
PhilaU Student Designs Hit the Philadelphia Fashion Week Runway
Student designs hit the runway Oct. 7 at the second Philadelphia Fashion Week, which runs Oct. 6 to 9 at
the 23rd Street Armory in Philadelphia and showcases some of the biggest names in Philadelphia fashion.
The Fashion Industries Association (FIA) produced the PhilaU show again this year and played a role behind the scene for all of the shows.
“We are very excited to be part of Philadelphia Fashion
Week, featuring our young designers who offer an innovative and fresh point of view,” said Clara Henry, director of PhilaU’s Fashion Design Program. “This
event presented a fantastic opportunity to showcase
the creativity and talent of our students for the industry and design community.”
The student show included designs from Philadelphia University, along with Drexel University, the Art Institute
of Philadelphia, Moore College of Art and Design and
the University of Delaware.
The event showcased the collections of area students and emerging designers. More than twenty professional designers displayed their collections during the four-day event. Retailers set up pop-up shops to offer attendees the opportunity to take some runway-ready looks home.
