Golf Invitational

15th Annual PhilaU Golf Tournament

Message from Robert C. Lockyer ‘68
Committee Chair

Welcome to the 18th Annual Robert C. Lockyer ’68 Golf Invitational supporting Athletics and the PhilaU Fund at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University). This event helps nearly every student on campus. With 17 NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports teams, numerous intramural sports; and a wide array of recreation activities, close to 50 percent of students on the Jefferson – East Falls Campus participate in athletics. More than 90 percent of our students receive financial support.

Half of the proceeds from last year’s event provided financial aid to current students. The other half funded “donkeys” for the sports fields. These multi-media towers were placed on the soccer, softball, and baseball fields, providing space for announcers and equipment to film or webcast games. This is especially exciting since our games are now web streamed through Blue Frame technology.

Our goal of $100,000 this year will allow us to do even more for our students!

Please join us for a fun day of golf and camaraderie and help improve our students’ lives on the field and in the classroom. In addition to golf, we offer raffles and contests throughout the day, and everyone leaves with a keepsake photo.

Thank you for all that you do to support the University, and I look forward to seeing you at the 1912 Club on Thursday, June 13.

If you require special accommodations or need more information, contact Chris O’Brien at or 215-951-5943.

Your support of the Robert C. Lockyer '68 Golf Invitational will benefit student-athletes like:

“Whether it's during practice, in a game or throughout my academic day, I always try to dedicate my full commitment to what I'm doing at the time in order to get the most out of each aspect of my life.”

Liz Wissman ‘18 - Lacrosse, Graphic Design

“Where I grew up, a lot of people my age were not given the same opportunities as I was. The privilege to be able to do what I do is an honor, so when I'm on court, I smile every chance I get.”

Kaison Randolph ’18 - Basketball, Business

“I have always been able to find self-motivation from my passion for the game. The desire to step on the field and do what I enjoy most is what makes the difference for me. I strive to apply the same amount of passion I have for soccer to everything else I do in life.”

Erin Tinneny '19 - Soccer, Accounting
