Kelly Marie Vogdes, who passed away at the age of 25 in 2004, was a remarkable young woman. With her exuberant energy, genuine warmth, and gregarious nature, she stood out in a crowd. She displayed her love for life, family, and friends with wide open eyes, dimpled smiles, kindness, and compassion.
Born and raised in South Jersey, Kelly graduated from Camden Catholic High School and went on to earn her B.A. in Fashion Merchandising at Philadelphia University in 2001. Upon graduation, she was hired by Jones Apparel Group. Pursuing an executive track position, her job site moved to New York but her heart and home remained in South Jersey.
If you were lucky enough to know Kelly, you would know that she would encourage you to follow your passions and live adventurously. She would also tell you to open your heart to give and receive the love that surrounds you every day.
The Kelly Marie Vogdes Scholarship fund is a beneficiary of Kelly's Ride, an annual charity bicycle ride held in memory of Kelly, which raises money for efforts that improve the quality of life for disadvantaged girls and young women physically, academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
