Burlington Industries Foundation Scholarship
Beginning in 2011, the Burlington Industries Foundation is
generously funding a new $20,000 scholarship (payable over four years)
each year at Philadelphia University with the purpose of providing
financial support to the dependents of employees of International
Textile Group. Based in Greensboro, N.C., ITG is a diverse, innovative
provider of global textile solutions and distinguished fabric brands to
automotive, apparel, interior furnishing and industrial markets
worldwide.
If there are no eligible students, then all other
students from the following states will be considered: North
Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia; with the preference to a student
studying one of the following majors: Textile Design, Textile
Engineering Technology, Fashion Industry Management, Fashion Design, or
Fashion Merchandising.
The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving
student based on overall merit as determined by the University’s Office
of Financial Aid, beginning in their freshman year. The
scholarship will continue to be awarded if the student continues to
maintain their course of study and a grade point average above 3.0
(grading scale of 4.0) for up to four years.
For ITG Employees:
Dependent children of ITG employees, who are
current high school seniors, are eligible to apply. Dependent children
include biological or adopted children, legal wards or resident
stepchildren. Dependent children of company officers are not eligible.
An ITG employee must have been an employee of the company for at least
one year in order for his or her dependent to be eligible to apply.
Applications must be received by the Philadelphia University Office of
Financial Aid by January 31. Award selections are made by Philadelphia
University and neither the Burlington Foundation nor International
Textile Group has any input into selection decisions. Please see your
human resources office to get an eligibility letter for your scholarship
application or for more information.
