M.S. in Disaster Medicine and Management

About the Program

PhilaU’s MS in Disaster Medicine and Management program, delivered as a partnership between Philadelphia University and the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Albert Einstein Health Network, was developed to prepare individuals with the knowledge and expertise to manage and develop the increasingly complex disaster management and preparedness requirements of the 21st century.

In addition to PhilaU's MS degree, we offer two certificate programs, one in Disaster Medicine and Management and the other in Business Continuity.

Recent events have focused the world’s attention on the prevalence of both natural and manmade disasters.  These events include biological and chemical terrorism, war, tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, wildfires, volcanoes, hazardous materials and major power grid disruptions.

The effects of all of these disasters on people, animals, the environment, physical structures and our public infrastructure have been immense. This increased attention to our public safety, emergency medical services (EMS), Emergency Management, and public health systems has created a need for individuals skilled to manage and prepare for new potential disasters.  PhilaU’s distinctive curriculum fully prepares students to become leaders in all areas of disaster and emergency management.
