THE PROGRAM

 

The Master of Science in Disaster Medicine and Management is a comprehensive graduate-degree program encompassing all facets of disaster management.

The program encompasses the study of terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, hazardous materials, natural disasters, psychological aspects of disasters, public-health considerations of disasters, research methods and disaster planning and management including risk assessment, incident command and resource allocation.

The program is conveniently offered in 2 methods that involves a one-week (6.5 days) summer, intensive, on-campus experience that includes role-playing seminars, disaster drills and a table-top exercise. New option to study on campus now available, combining on-line education with a minimum of 15 hours per course of in-person seminars.
