For Philadelphia University Runway Challenge contestant Corrine Gilmore, good things come in threes. Her flirty eveningwear design secured her third win in the series, two of which were back to back.

Gilmore’s win come’s after a week-long challenge to create eveningwear appropriate for an event at the historic Philadelphia opera house, the Academy of Music, located in Center City. She and her fellow contestants were given $100 to spend in Gaffney Fabrics, a local store frequented by Philadelphia University Fashion Design students, to create their glamorous designs.

Week four’s judges, which included eveningwear designer Frank Agostino, celebrity hairstylist David Evangelista, The 10! Show co-host Bill Henley and Fashion Design Program Director Clara Henry, preferred Gilmore’s use of rich fabric and excellent proportion and balance. As runner up, Pam Martin’s strapless dress that featured a revealing slit of gold fabric also impressed the judge’s with its simple elegance. However, Vedrana Jegdic’s sexy red creation, which featured a high, center slit, did not meet the judges’ standard of quality to continue to the next challenge.

Pressure is mounting with each challenge. Only six designers remain from the original ten. Next Monday, the student designers will exhibit their designs from previously worn items on the runway, so be sure to tune in at 10 a.m. to The 10! Show on NBC10 to see which designer is in and which is out.
