Fashion Merchandising and Management
College of Design, Engineering & Commerce

About the Program

Philadelphia University’s fashion merchandising and management program features an immersive, career-focused curriculum that prepares students to contribute to all aspects of the burgeoning fashion industry. With advancing technologies and a global marketplace, fashion has evolved into a billion-dollar business that offers many rewarding opportunities, from buying and sourcing to merchandising and brand management. Our program emphasizes professional training from day one. Our dynamic courses and innovative approach to education shows the breadth of the field, and our graduates are exceptionally well-prepared to contribute to the industry.

In our unique career-focused program structure, students take 5 core courses as a foundation and introduction to the industry. Students then choose core clusters based on their interests, guiding them to specific career pathways. Working collaboratively, students experience real-world challenges and have opportunities to produce fashion shows and events such as The Annual Fashion Show, participate in student-run Pop-Up Stores, or join the editorial team of PhilaU’s fashion publication, STYLELINE. Philadelphia University’s scenic campus offers access to internship and employment possibilities in Philadelphia and New York, and our students study abroad in fashion capitals including Paris, Rome, Hong Kong and London. Through industry partnerships and our strong alumni network, students have opportunities to intern with top companies and retailers.
