The FYE program provides special programs for new students to help facilitate a seamless transition to Philadelphia University and help ensure student success. A favorite is SEPTA 101, a primer on how to use the Philadelphia transit system–falling nicely into our “Finding Philadelphia” theme for the First-Year Experience program.
Student Development Programs also offers an emerging leaders program for first-year students, a film series, cultural excursions and a variety of other activities to help first-years take advantage of campus life and the city.
Faculty teaching first-year students are encouraged to work with the co-curriculum initiatives to help students connect the learning in their courses with the opportunities for learning provided by various staff in the Division of Student Affairs.
