Villanova Partnership

The M.S. in Sustainable Design has partnered with Villanova Univerity’s MS in Sustainable Engineering Program to enrich their learning by experiencing sustainability courses at a partner University.

Philadelphia University students are allowed to take up to two courses at Villanova (with program director approval, students may take three). Specific courses will have different pre-requisites, however all PhilaU students are to have taken SDN 601 before they can take any of the Villanova courses.

Villanova University offers the following courses for Philadelphia University students to choose from:

• Life Cycle / Impact Assessment
• Urban Hydrology & Storm Water Management (with proper undergraduate background)
• Renewable Energy Systems (with proper electrical circuits background)
• Renewable Energy Policy
• Water Res. Planning & Management (with proper undergraduate/work experiences)
• Lake, Stream and Wetland Ecology (with proper chemistry background)
• Economic/Social Equity Integrators

Honeywell Partnership

ACT! EARTH Energy Education and Awareness Campaign. Our graduate students received scholarships to collaborate with sustainability leaders from Honeywell, and the University leadership to develop a Greenhouse Gas Inventory for compliance with the President's Climate Commitment. Read more...

   

United States Green Building Council

Philadelphia University has been a member of the USGBC since 2003 and participates on the education sub-committee to help promote sustainable curriculum across the country. In addition, The faculty members in the Program has been heavily involved in the local Delaware Valley Green Building Council including sitting on the Board of Directors for 8 years.

   

AASHE & the President's Climate Commitment

Philadelphia University is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education and is a signatory of the President's Climate Commitment.
