Legendary Coach Herb Magee is the #1 men’s basketball coach with all NCAA wins!
Philadelphia University Men’s Basketball Coach
Herb Magee notched his 903rd career coaching win Feb. 23 as the Rams defeated Goldey-Beacom College 76-65. With this win, Coach Magee has now passed Bobby Knight’s coaching record of 902 NCAA wins! A Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame nominee and Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Sports Hall of Famer, Coach Magee has had an extraordinary career during his 50 seasons as a player and coach at Philadelphia University.

The men’s basketball team advanced to the NCAA Division II Sweet 16 after upsetting #1 seed Stonehill College. This was the first time in 15 years the Rams have advanced to the Sweet 16.
Among the season’s many accomplishments, three PhilaU players – seniors Russell Frederick, Malcolm Ingram and Mike Yocum – were named to the CACC All-Conference Team. Russell Frederick and Malcolm Ingram were also named to the 2009-10 Daktronics Men’s Basketball East All-Region Second Team. Coach Magee was named the CACC Coach of the Year.
Congratulations to Coach Magee and the Men’s Basketball Team!
