POSITION VACANCY

 

TITLE OF POSITION:

Assistant Professor, Physician Assistant Studies

STATUS: Full-Time, 12 month, renewable contract

DEPARTMENT:

Physicians Assistant Program

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior student teaching
  • Strong interpersonal & organizational skills
  • Written and oral communication abilities
  • Working knowledge of word -processing and spreadsheet software
  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant (PA) program, or an accredited program or university if not in PA
  • Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants if a PA, or equivalent if not a PA
  • Holds, or eligible for, professional licensure or certification
  • Possession of valid Drivers License and car
  • Strong knowledge of health care system structure

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • B. S. from an accredited college or university
  • A Master's Degree is preferred or in progress to obtain within four years

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Course coordination, lecturing, lab and seminar instruction, student recruitment, admissions activities, clinical, committee participation, student advising, quality assessment activities, and other administrative duties
  • Clinical coordinator with clinical site development, student assignment, coordination of clinical faculty, student site visitation, interfacing with clinical preceptors, student advising, and general supervision of the learning experience at clinical sites
