POSITION VACANCY

 

TITLE OF POSITION:

Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations

STATUS: Full-time

DEPARTMENT:

Development and Alumni Relations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two to five years of grant-writing experience with a proven track record of success - preferably in a higher-education environment.
  • Must posses excellent communications skills, both written and oral. Familiarity with the most recent office software and equipment.
  • Exceptional ability to work with faculty and administration in the successful coordination of funding projects.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all activities related to obtaining major gifts or grants from philanthropic and corporate foundations, funding organizations and government agencies. 
  • Develops and implements fundraising strategies with foundations, corporations and government agencies that support the funding needs of the University.
  • Conducts research, prepares proposals and related materials, provides stewardship and maintains communications.
  • Manages and supports the activities of the president, trustees and senior staff with grant proposals to foundations, corporations and government agencies.
  • Oversees alumni relations, parent relations and foundation and corporate relations; and oversees staff in all four areas.
  • Engages constituents outside of the University with its mission and fundraising goals.
  • Coordinates proposals and related materials to external- funding sources, as well as the ongoing identification of potential new funding opportunities. Manages a comprehensive stewardship program for foundations, corporations and government agencies.
  • Carries a portfolio of gift prospects.
