POSITION VACANCY

 

TITLE OF POSITION:

Director, Occupational Therapy Assistant Program

STATUS: Full-time

DEPARTMENT:

Continuing and Professional Studies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Initial and current certification by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy as an occupational therapist
  • Minimum at least one year of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities
  • Minimum of one year of experience in collegiate teaching
  • Minimum of five years experience in occupational therapy, including practice as an occupational therapist
  • Demonstrated knowledge of education, certification, and roles and scope of practice of occupational therapy assistants
  • Administrative or management experience
  • Familiarity with Standards for an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program as promulgated by ACOTE
  • Demonstrated strengths in curriculum development
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit
  • Clear commitment to non-traditional forms of education

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of a master's degree (doctoral degree preferred) in Occupational Therapy or related discipline

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall administration of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and its staff and faculty
  • Curriculum and program development
  • Organization, implementation, strategic planning, evaluation, and budgeting
  • Selection of faculty and staff, budgeting and maintenance of accreditation
