POSITION VACANCY

 

TITLE OF POSITION:

Director of Writing Across the Curriculum

STATUS: Full-time

DEPARTMENT:

School of Liberal Arts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Significant experience with teaching writing-intensive courses and writing-program administration.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communicative skills. 
  • Can work effectively with faculty in a variety of disciplines, with a special emphasis on design fields.
  • Strong background in writing or rhetoric and a demonstrated ability to lead an established program. 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Ph.D. required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Opportunity to shape and administer an established and well-supported WAC program at a dynamic, professionally oriented university.
  • Writing Across the Curriculum at Philadelphia University features university-wide writing initiatives, as well as writing-specific courses within the general education core. 
  • Supervises faculty recruitment, hiring, and evaluation; organizes faculty development, and represents the program across campus. 
  • The position is a 12 month administrative appointment with a renewable term contract and a reduced teaching load. 
  • Reports to the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts.
