TITLE OF POSITION:

Adjunct Instructor, Middle East Studies

STATUS:

Part-time, one-semester contract

DEPARTMENT:

College of Science, Health and the Liberal Arts

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be qualified to teach "The Middle East," an area studies course that introduces students to the contemporary culture, politics, economics and recent history of southwest Asia and North Africa.  The successful candidate will be a dynamic and experienced teacher who applies active student-learning methods in the classroom.  Two sections of the course will be offered in the Spring 2013 semester course on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.  Classes begin on January 9, 2013. 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

PhD (or expected completion of PhD by December 2012) in Middle Eastern history, Middle Eastern Studies, political science, human geography or related field is preferred.
