TITLE OF POSITION:

Assistant Professor of Fashion Design- up to two positions

STATUS:

 Full-time, professional-practice-track

DEPARTMENT:

 School of Design and Engineering

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidates will have an excellent understanding of creative-design references and processes. Both positions require exceptional communication skills and experience providing design critiques. Strong computer skills including Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Suite are required; CAD is a plus. Photo shoot and styling experiences are pluses.  An understanding of textile design, textile printing and production is a plus. Industry experience that included creative-concept development through product-development is required. Experience teaching at the university-level is preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

A master’s degree or five or more years of experience in industry is required. The master’s degree may be in-progress at time of hire, but completion required by the time the dossier for long-term contract and promotion is submitted.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position #1: This faculty member will teach undergraduate students in creative-concept and technical garment-construction. We seek someone who is particularly strong on the creative-concept side. 

Position #2: This faculty member will teach undergraduate students in creative-concept and technical garment-construction. We seek someone who is particularly strong on the technical garment-construction side.
