 Director of Residence Life and Judicial Affairs

STATUS:

 Full-time

DEPARTMENT:

 Office of Residence Life

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Qualified Candidates will have:

  • Five to eight years of experience in college and university housing
  • Experience with training and development of staff
  • Knowledge of "best practices" in college and university housing.
  • Experience in the handling of student disciplinary cases and systems.
  • Crisis management experience 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

 Master’s Degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling or the equivalent.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Supervises a professional staff of seven.
  • Selects, trains and supervises approximately 60 peer counselors (RAs and RMs).
  • Manages a housing program that accommodates 1500 students in residence halls, apartments and townhouses.
  • Responsible for student judicial system.
  • Works directly with food service, physical plant, safety and security, and other campus services to provide service and support to student residents.
  • Responsible for residence education, including alcohol and drug prevention, sexual assault and harassment awareness programs, and a wide variety of other programs to assist students in managing their lives effectively in community.
