POSITION VACANCY

 

TITLE OF POSITION:

Visiting Assistant Professor of Writing Studies or Communications

STATUS: Full-time, One-year Appointment

DEPARTMENT:

School of Liberal Arts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred areas of specialization include: writing studies, professional or technical communication, visual communication

  • Commitment to teaching in an innovative general education core with a strong writing across the curriculum focus

  • Commitment to teaching in a student-centered environment

  • Interest in interdisciplinary and integrative learning and the instructional use of technology is an advantage

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Applicants should have finished their PhD or have a nearly completed dissertation by August 1, 2007

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in development of a new major in Communication Management and Design
  • Teach the freshmen writing seminar on contemporary American society
