Founded in 2001 by the popular demand of Philadelphia University industrial design students, the mission of the Design/Build Committee is to identify opportunities to contribute to the physical culture of the industrial design program's home in Smith House. The Committee meets weekly spending most of its time discussing opportunities, designing strategies and building temporary installations. The committee is responsible for implementing the Smith House Student gallery and The Material Zone material library. The Design/Build Committee is open to all industrial design students.
