04/07 Industrial design students Rocco Avallone, Dominick Bizzarri, Gary Bugno, Kyle Cittadino, Kaitlin Summa and Christina Weiss were featured in an article in Philadelphia Magazine (May, 2007) called "Beyond Design 101" which features their work from the sophomore design studio that will be shown at the ICFF in NYC this May.
04/07 Industrial Design associate professor Josh Owen and senior ID student Kate Casciano were featured in the April 2007 issue of Metropolis magazine, which reported on the participation of the University’s Industrial Design students in the prestigious International Contemporary Furniture Fair, which will take place in New York May 19-22.
04/07 Industrial Design seniors Paul Franke, Jeff Bare, Ed Gallagher and freshman Katie Weiss were selected to exhibit their projects in the F.U.E.L. collection gallery space as a part of Design Philadelphia (www.designphiladelphia.org). The exhibition is entitled "Philly Heart Design (www.mioculture.com/phillyheartdesign).
04/07 Sophomore Design student Hayley Rosen's project “Bike-wheel Lazy Susan” was recently featured in issue 28 of ReadyMade Magazine.
03/07 Josh Baker '01 was featured in the March 2007 issue of Metropolis Magazine.
01/07 Assistant Professor Josh Owen's Sophomore design studio was selected by an international jury to be exhibited at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City in May of 07. The project was reviewed and judged by editors from the following international design publications and sponsors of the ICFF: Abitare, Domus, Frame, Interni, Intramuros, Metropolis, and Wallpaper*. 11/06 Industrial Design student Michelle Mullin, who won second place in this year’s Collab Student Design Competition for her necklace/tabletop sculpture, was featured The Philadelphia Inquirer.  The design challenge was to create an “intelligent ornament” inspired by the work of Danish silversmith Georg Jensen.  Josh Owen, assistant professor of Industrial Design, was quoted in the article. 08/06 Industrial Design majors Ben Salthouse (’06) and Juan Cespedes won 2nd prize in the 2005-2006 Airport. Security. Circulation competition sponsored by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. The two designed a passenger screening zone in the competition category of protective security zone, under the leadership of sponsor Hyman Zelkowitz, adjunct faculty in the School of Design and Media. The award includes a cash prize of $6,000 for the students and $2,000 for Zelkowitz. The competition jury included architects and representatives from schools of architecture and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Winning projects will be displayed at the association’s 2007 annual meeting and the American Institute of Architects 2007 Convention. 09/05 Industrial Design Program Senior Sarah Pantaleo crowned the Grand Prize winner of the Staples Invention Quest for her invention, Spindle Rack. The winning project was the result of a collaboration between Pantaleo and adjunct professor Mike Leonard as part of her summer internship at Leonard's design firm, Duzeo.
