A531 and A532 - History of Architecture and Interiors III & IV

This page contains information about the information literacy project for A531& A532 students. On this page you'll find information about the instructor expectations for each student with respect to developing visual analysis and research skills. In this course we will focus on the following skills:

bulleteffective online catalog searching to locate books and periodicals
bulletselection and use of online databases appropriate to the information need
bulletlocating the full-text of articles using article citation information
bulletuse of Interlibrary Loan services to obtain books and articles
bulletcitation and documentation of information sources
bulletsynthesis and appropriate application of information
 

Here are some things you'll be doing in this course:

bulletlocating full-text articles from citations in Avery Index and other online databases
bulletlocating and obtaining books from other libraries, using EZ-Borrow and WorldCAT
bulletidentifying appropriate scholarly writings
bulletapplying these writings to your research by composing an annotated bibliography
bulletsynthesizing and applying the information you have gathered into a final project supporting your thesis statement
