T101 - Survey of the Textile Industry

This page contains information about the information literacy project for T101 students. On this page you'll find information about the instructor expectations for each student with respect to developing better research skills. In this course we will focus on the following skills:

bulletdeveloping keywords to search for textile information
bulletcritical reading of information; assessment and evaluation of information
bulletproper documentation of information source
bulletorganization and presentation of information, culminating in a bibliography

Here are some things you'll be doing in this course:

bulletdoing a written exercise to guide you in the location, access, and evaluation of textile information sources, both printed and electronic
bulletusing University e-mail to correspond with the librarian liaison to the School of Textiles
bulletusing PhilaFIND, Gutman Library's the online catalog
bulletlooking at print publications physically held by the Library
bulletlooking at textile information located on the World Wide Web
