There are various credit options available to undergraduate students who apply to the Internship program, including three, six and non-credit Internships.
CREDIT: Students may take Internship for credit in place of one or two “Free Electives” in the student’s curriculum. Undergraduate participation in credit-bearing Internship is limited to a maximum of six credits. Graduate student participation is limited to one semester, or three credits. Students who elect to participate in Internship for credit register for either one or two three-credit Internship courses in a given semester.
NON-CREDIT: Undergraduate and Graduate students who do not have open free electives or who do not wish to take a credit-bearing Internship course may participate in non-credit Internship. Undergraduate student participation in non-credit Internship is limited to a maximum of two semesters. Graduate students are limited to one semester of non-credit Internship. Non-credit Internship students register for a non-credit Internship course. Please note that the non-credit Internship option is not open to International Students who are required to fulfill criteria for CPT.
In order to have Internship experiences recorded on a student’s transcript, the student must be registered and fulfill all course requirements in a timely matter as stated in the appropriate Internship course outline.
