consider studying industrial and
systems engineering

Interested in business and mathematics? If so, then have you considered a career in the well-paid field of industrial engineering?  Then you should know that Erin Wallace, an industrial and systems engineer and senior vice president for Walt Disney World Operations, has told us that “An Industrial Engineering degree is the best degree money can buy.  You learn to be an engaged problem solver; that is why ISEs are highly desired by companies.”

This is an exciting, well-compensated, cutting-edge career.  That’s because Industrial and Systems Engineers (ISEs) work with people, machines and technology to maximize productivity and quality in the workplace.  They are team members who apply their engineering skills and business knowledge to finding the best solutions to issues affecting productivity, profits and people.

Not only are ISEs employed across the spectrum of the for-profit sector, they also help to advance society in such areas as science, health and social services as evidenced by this statement by Dr. Michael Washington, Ph.D., Industrial Engineer, National Immunization Program, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
“I have used my skills in a wide range of areas, from helping prepare the nation against bioterrorists attacks by designing efficient mass smallpox-vaccination clinics with computer simulation, to using statistics and geographical information systems to help eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases in Ghana and India.”

I know you are getting ready to make a college and career-education choice as you enter your senior year of high school and that you are being inundated with information from many institutions.  However, I believe that if you take a moment to navigate our website, you’ll recognize that Philadelphia University’s BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering Program is uniquely suited to your interests.  Since 1884, we have provided students with professionally based education in a spectacular and nurturing learning environment.

It would not be surprising to me that prior to visiting this website, you had no idea exactly what Industrial and Systems Engineering entails or the superior career opportunities it offers.  However, after navigating these pages, and, in particular, after watching the video on your computer at www.philau.edu/ise/video.htm, you will want to know more about this exciting engineering program.  Just contact me at brooksteind@PhilaU.edu and I will be pleased to provide you with more information.

Enjoy your senior year and I look forward to hearing from you.
